COPI - CEREBRAL PALSY

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is a general term that describes the non-contagious condition that effects human development, most often in the motor function of children. CP can occur prior, during or after birth.  As reported by the CDC, CP affects two to three in every 1,000 childbirths in the United States.  Of those, Spastic Cerebral Palsy affects 61 to 76.9% of those reported with CP.

COPI is very specialized in the treatment of children with CP.  At the core to the treatment plan is the simple concept that the CP patient must be considered in total considering all of the goals for the patient, family and therapist.  The practitioners at COPI are well trained to evaluate the CP gait pattern, taking into consideration all aspects of locomotion.  The treatment plan will be designed so that the patient can meet all of their goals. COPI utilizes many different afo designs to accomplish this goal.
